The Pancyprian Antileukemia Association ZOE is a nonprofit organization, established on 28th May 2002 in Nicosia, Cyprus. Its mission is to support patients suffering from leukemia and other hematological diseases, upgrade diagnostic and treatment services and raise awareness of Cypriot Society in relation to hematological diseases. Association’s actions: Financial Support We provide financial support to our patients to cover their needs, especially to those going abroad for allogeneic bone marrow transplantation and medical examinations (pet-scan) or to those buying a wig. Also, we cover the first needs (nutrition, clothes) of patients in needy. Every year, 300 people are been helped. Social support Social support is allocated in various ways. Our officer informs our patients about their rights from the state and other bodies. Furthermore, she provides assistance to our patients, in diverse bureaucratic procedures, when it’s necessary. Our volunteers offer beverages to patients at outpatient clinic or daycare in General Hospitals of Nicosia and Limassol. We accommodate patients and their relatives who come from distant places in our guest’s quarters. In addition, events and trips are organized for our patients. Psychological Support Psychological support is provided to patients who suffer from leukemia and other hematological diseases, as well to their relatives. Our Health Psychologist visits the hematological wards in General Hospitals of Nicosia and Limassol, in a daily base. Treatment Services We support the hematological wards in General Hospital of Nicosia and Limassol by buying medical equipment or training the staff. Awareness We inform, enlighten and raise awareness of the Cypriot society in relation to hematological diseases by organizing conferences, seminars, lectures and printing informative leaflets.
